Attitudes & Attire Kicks Off 16th Annual Fundraiser
Non-Profit Agency Introduces Kim Dawson Award Recipient and Honorary Chair for
2013 Luncheon and Fashion Show

DALLAS – October 29, 2012 - Attitudes & Attire™, a non-profit agency dedicated to promoting personal growth for women seeking self-sufficiency, hosted a kickoff party for its 16th Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show. More than 150 guests gathered at Maggiano’s NorthPark on October 25th to celebrate sponsors and supporters of the agency’s annual fundraiser and to salute the Kim Dawson Award recipient who will be honored at the March 2013 event.

Lyn Berman, founder and executive director of Attitudes & Attire, announced that the agency’s 2013 Kim Dawson Award recipient is Dr. Sandra B. Chapman, Ph.D., Founder and Chief Director of the Center for BrainHealth at the University of Texas at Dallas. Berman created the Kim Dawson Award to honor a woman whose standout personality and accomplishments exemplify the full potential of all women. Past recipients include Sarah Losinger, Caroline Rose Hunt, and Ebby Halliday. The award will be officially presented to Dr. Chapman at the luncheon and fashion show in March.

Dallas fashion designer Michael Faircloth was also introduced as Honorary Chair for the 2013 event. With more than three decades of experience creating custom couture clothing for an international clientele, Faircloth is most well-known for designing the inaugural wardrobe for former First Lady Laura Bush. He addressed the kickoff party crowd on the role that clothing can play in building and boosting a woman’s confidence.

“We’re so excited to kick off another season of gearing up for our annual fundraiser,” said Berman. “I’m truly grateful to Michael and Sandi for their generous involvement in what will be our biggest and best event yet.”

In addition to remarks from Faircloth and Dr. Chapman, one of the highlights of the party was from a former Attitudes & Attire™ client who credited the agency with helping her to get back on the path to successful full-time employment. Kelly Webster of ESPN radio served as Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening.

Attitudes & Attire™ will host its 16th Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show on March 1, 2013, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the Grand Pavilion of the Dallas Trade Mart. All proceeds from the event will benefit the agency, which helps women learn how to recognize their self-worth, create a positive image, and improve job search skills.  Attitudes & Attire™ also provides work-appropriate outfits from its boutique, which is stocked with donations.
