DALLAS; July 28, 2011 — Attitudes & Attire™ (www.attitudesandattire.org), a nonprofit agency dedicated to promoting personal growth for women seeking self sufficiency, announced today that it has teamed with Accenture to provide women seeking self-sufficiency with the skills they need to successfully reenter the workforce. The effort is part of Accenture’s Skills to Succeed initiative, which will equip 250,000 people around the world by 2015 with the skills to get a job or build a business.
“We’re so grateful to the team at Accenture for warmly welcoming our clients to their offices and sharing valuable information about the skills it takes to succeed in the workplace,” said Lyn Berman, founder and executive director of Attitudes & Attire™. “It was such a treat for our clients to visit a thriving professional workplace and envision what can be possible for them.”
The full-day training was offered to a group of Attitudes & Attire™ clients who are participating in the agency’s core program, which expands traditional job training to include positive self image, appropriate workplace behavior and appearance. During the training, Accenture “coaches” provided basic mentoring and encouragement in the areas of resume writing, mock interview practice and building a professional brand.
“Accenture’s Skills to Succeed initiative combines our people’s passion, experience and commitment to nurturing talent and giving back to the community,” said Sandra Beal, Dallas Corporate Citizenship Lead at Accenture. “The women who participate in this program will gain the skills and tools needed to reconnect to the workforce in a meaningful way.”
Attitudes & Attire™ offers interpersonal skills training for women at its location in the Dallas World Trade Center. The agency’s workshops help women learn how to recognize their self-worth, create a positive image, overcome barriers, and improve job search skills. Attitudes & Attire™ also provides a work-appropriate outfit of the woman’s choice from its boutique, which is stocked with donations from local retailers, manufacturers, individuals, and corporate clothing drives.
